Lucy interviewed on BBC Radio Merseyside, lunchtime Tuesday, 19th March 2013

You may recall that I have been searching for biographical information about the following poets:

Rachael BATES
Catherine BRIDSON
Catherine M. JACKSON

whose work was published in the anthology 'Poets of Merseyside', edited by S. Fowler Wright and published by Merton Press in 1923.  

I contacted the media of Merseyside and BBC Radio Merseyside kindly invited me to broadcast live during the lunch-time programme on Tuesday, 19th March 2013.  The show host, Roger Phillips, asked some interesting questions and gave me plenty of time to explain my project as well make enquiries about the three poets from Merseyside.

 He also asked about May Sinclair who is featured in the Female Poets of the First World War Exhibition currently running at the Wilfred Owen Story museum at 34 Argyle Street, Birkenhead, Wirral CH41 6AE (Tuesdays - Fridays 11 am - 2pm).

May was born in Rock Ferry on the Wirral and is credited with coming up with the term 'stream of consciousness' which she used to describe the work of a fellow poet Dorothy M. Richardson when she reviewed Dorothy's book 'Pointed Roofs' (1915).   May wrote in the modernist magazine 'The Egoist', published in 1915.
